How to book an appointment to submit M127, office addresses, what to bring, and what to expect at the interview

The application must be submitted in person at the District Administration offices — online or by post is not allowed. After the documents are accepted, you will wait for the officer’s call for the interview.

Book in advance — slots are taken quickly; free dates now extend two months ahead.

What to Bring

  • Full document package (originals + copies of everything)
  • Form M127, certified in court
  • Submission fee of €5,000 — paid on-site after documents are checked, by card or cash

Check your documents the day before your visit. It is convenient to place the photos (see Documents) in a separate envelope and clip it to the top of form M127. If you plan to pay by card, warn your bank in advance and check your transaction limits; take cash as a backup in case the card does not go through. After acceptance, they will give you a file number — keep it.

The Wait

After submitting documents, you need to wait for the officer’s call. Currently, the wait is about 6 months. They call from numbers +357 22 867619 and +357 22 867647 — save them in your contacts. The officer will state the address, date, and time of the interview.

Interview

The interview itself is conducted in Greek.

What They Will Ask

  • Personal history: when you arrived, where you work
  • Family: spouse/children
  • Integration: participation in Cypriot life, acquaintances with Cypriots, activities
  • Plans: do you intend to stay
  • Conversational Greek: can you introduce yourself and answer basic questions

Tips

  • Prepare a brief introduction in Greek: name, profession, how many years in Cyprus, family
  • Be specific: “I go to gym X,” “children study at school Y,” “my neighbor is Cypriot”
  • Remember sponsors by their names and know how you met them
  • This is a conversation, not an interrogation — be natural

What Not to Say

Do not emphasize that Cyprus is needed “for an EU passport” — even if that is the case. Talk about living here.

After the interview, the result is not communicated — the documents go for further consideration.

Waiting Again

After the interview, you need to wait about another 2 months. The decision letter arrives by standard mail.
